Directions:

Ensure you are in a position that is comfortable to insert Canesten vaginal pH self test swab. An easy and convenient position is with one foot on the toilet seat.

Unwrap the Canesten vaginal pH self test swab (make sure the swab tip does not come into contact with anything before you insert it into your vagina).

Hold the Canesten vaginal pH self test swab by the handle and carefully insert the yellow tip of the swab into your vagina, rotate the swab several times and then remove. Refer to the product leaflet for further details on how to use the swab before using this product.

After 10 seconds check the tip of the Canesten vaginal pH self test swab to see if the colour has stayed the same or changed to green/blue.

If your Canesten vaginal pH self test swab did not change colour after 10 seconds and you have symptoms such as (white) thick, cottage cheese like discharge, none or a non-offensive odour, intense vaginal (or vulvar) itching or burning and no painful urination then it means that you may be suffering from thrush.

It is been less than 12 hours since you have had sexual intercourse or used a vaginal douche.

If you are pregnant, consult your doctor, as interpreting test results during pregnancy and choosing a medication requires professional knowledge.

Some menopausal women may have an elevated vaginal pH and may therefore receive a green/blue result with the swab even though they are not suffering from thrush or a bacterial infection.

As such, you should not use this test if you are menopausal.
